Well, it’s another Monday morning and time to focus on the week’s tasks.

And here’s some intriguing, remarkable content we’ve gathered to help you get the week started.

This week’s Monday Madeleines from MIW:

UFO shuts down airport in China

Air traffic controllers spotted a mysterious object on the radar recently, which compelled them to close the Xiaoshan Airport in Hangzhou, China, for about an hour. Thanks to @AllTop for bringing this to our attention.

Across the World in 30 Days Courtesy of Nothing But Generous Tweeps

This is an amazing story about Paul Smith, aka “The Twitchhiker”, a freelance writer struggling to make ends meet, who traveled from the U.K. to New Zealand in 30 days on nothing more than the kind cooperation of those who use Twitter.

Am I hungover or is this monitor crooked?

Thanks to @JayOatway for this one. If you have a colleague who seems a bit hungover this morning, why not send him or her a link to Google’s new backgrounds? Seem a little off? Maybe it will help if your colleague clicks the Change background image link at the bottom left of the page. Whoa! Is the room spinning, or is it me?

Old Spice man in social media blitz

Thanks to @LisaBarone from Outspoken Media for her enlightening post, Old Spice: The Man Your Content Could Smell Like. It started with a July 13th tweet from the @OldSpice Twitter account with a challenge:

“Today could be just like the other 364 days you log into twitter,” it read. “Or maybe the Old Spice man shows up.”

What followed was a series of questions posted on Twitter to the Old Spice man, and some almost immediate video responses on YouTube. The videos were quite clever, and we have to wonder how many of the more than 60,000 Twitter followers started following @OldSpice as a result of this campaign. But alas, like all good things, the Old Spice social media blitz came to an end. Here’s what the Old Spice man (and his gi-normous ego) had to say about that:

Video response to the BP Oil Spill

No, it’s not funny. More like pathetic. But it is interesting, and in a way, downright scary. Featured on the Wakooz Media Blog.
