Mistina Picciano
After a college professor convinced her that good writing could actually pay, Mistina Picciano dropped her early legal aspirations. She earned a dual degree in professional writing and French and soon joined the corporate world as a staff writer. As vice president of communications at Guardsmark, Mistina managed one of “America’s Greatest Brands” and honed her innate attention to detail into an obsession. She now maintains rigorous standards for Market It Write when she’s not immersed in a book or penning fiction.

Susan Darby
Susan Darby offers clients 10 years of experience as a print journalist and feature editor and 20 years as a health care marketing and public relations executive. Her portfolio is chock full of feature stories about Alabamians with unique hobbies, business articles on health care, and industry reports on consumer products and services. She also crafts copy for websites, brochures, press releases and other assignments that strike her fancy. Susan and her husband share their home with three canine children and the occasional stray cat(s).

Randy Duermyer
Randy Duermyer was trying to decide between a law, business or computer career when his college girlfriend told him he would be a writer. After spending 20 years in insurance, he took a leap of faith and dove head-first into the world of online communications. Now, after more than 12 years of award-winning technical writing, web content production, blogging and online marketing, he offers clients a strong appreciation for business, paired with an insatiable thirst for the Web. When he’s not online, you’ll find him crafting a loaf of artisan bread, grilling to smooth jazz, or playing cards, enjoying a micro brew, and watching football or baseball.

Travis Heermann
Travis Heermann has authored two novels and dozens of magazine articles, in addition to a handful of short fiction published in online and print magazines. In 2006, he turned his talents to copywriting, studying under industry masters Bob Bly and Michael Masterson. He spent three years in Japan as an English teacher and now makes his home in a much larger world than before.

Deidre Rienzo
“Being a good writer is 3% talent, 97% not being distracted by the Internet.” –Anonymous

Using an informal, personal approach to writing, Deidre Rienzo has been helping business owners connect with their audiences for more than 10 years. With a strong background in Marketing and SEO, she has written hundreds of compelling websites, newsletters, articles and blog posts. Deidre specializes in writing online copy that not only engages readers, but also makes a keyword-rich impact on search engines. When she isn’t putting herself inside the reader’s shoes, Deidre is hitting the pavement in running sneakers, knee-deep in mud in golf shoes, comfy in Uggs, or stomping through town in her favorite pair of purple boots.

David Sattler
David Sattler started out as a newspaper reporter and editor, then switched careers to advertising when he won a job interview in a poker game. Since then he’s won more than 40 awards for journalism and advertising, and at least that many poker hands. He has two cases of the book he wrote (long out of print); a track record of helping clients make lots of money in all print, broadcast and electronic media; four children; one wife; and one very large dog. Although he has never taken a course in advertising or journalism, he has guest taught both subjects at the high school and college levels.
